1980s fancy dress

I'm going to a New Years fancy dress party and the theme is 'come as you were when you were 18'. When I was 18 it was (giving away my age now, damn! lol) 1987. What could I wear? I quite like the idea of leg warmers but don't know if they were all the rage in that year?! Any ideas?

Big Hair (back-combed if possible), Big Ear rings, shoulder pads, rara skirt, lots of plastic jewellary. Think of Madonna in Desparately Seeking Susan.

i think your in look at the moment because loads of shops have stuff like leggings and leg warmers, and the like in!!
Im only 18 as well, but i would suggest def. wearing leg warmers & leggings. The best thing to do is go into your local shop like topshop or new look and ask one of the assistants! i love it when people ask me what they should wear for parties and such like (i work in new look!). They should be able to give you some idea's and pick stuff out for you!!
