Shoes with Tunic Dress

I am wearing a blue satin tunic dress (not too short, about mid-thigh; short-sleeve) to a dinner/cocktails evening function. It's early August, and I'm not sure what shoes/sandles to go with. Metallic (silver maybe) would look good, but I'm really not wanting to go with a tall heel at all (the flatter the better). Any advice on strappy sandles or ballet flats would be most appreciated!

I can't seem to find any image of the dress online. I'm more interested in style of shoe/sandle with a short/mini tunic dress for an event in early August (warm weather).
