nice :o)

right, we're away on hols soon, staying in a beautiful villa owned by my bestie friend's parents. they're not charging me anything, bless them, and I'd like to buy them a gift to say thank you.

I am broke, but feel that I should be spending about £50 and I don't know what to get them. they are a young mid-60's couple, and have no idea what their taste is.

any ideas please?

redhelen, nice idea but we don't really spend time together. I think it would be a bit awkward.

is there a national chain of restaurants that do vouchers?
How about taking a really lovely photo of the villa, and having it enlarged and framed for them to keep in their house here.
sara, ignore pizza hut etc., look in the right hand column! http://restaurantvouchers.org.uk/

Well, take a photo anyway, then if you go there again, you can use my idea next time!

237, I have no idea!
Awww, you deserve this break, hun!

I bought the guy who helped me so much in my car accident some of these: http://www.leisurevouchers.co.uk/ Think they can be used in over 4000 places! x
Question Author
thanks ws :o)

can you just turn up at any of those places and use the voucher?
Question Author
ahh poop.. they post them out and I need them for Saturday :o(

I thought they'd email a voucher.
When we used to stay in my best friends parents villa in Spain they had a lot of wall space free so we bought them a painting by a local artist of the area and left it wrapped up for them for the next time they went over there. They loved it. Didn't cost a fortune either but they thought it was nice as it was local to the area as well.
I side with LoftieLottie and the others. One bottle of wine would not be enough, so think you may have to get them a case of it. That and some flowers as well.

Hope this helps.

If this plan works then your friend's parents will have to let us all stay there for free too.
Oh, bum. Are you near a Prezzo, hun? Pretty sure they do vouchers.
Going back to the wine - you could get a nice wooden prentation box with one white, one red and one sparkling - Rioja Faustino V, Sancerre or Pouilly Fume and a Prosecco Argeo Ruggeri (not the spumante type) . Or a nice red and champagne - Meerlust Rubicon (quite rare and very special about £20) plus Louis Roederer champagne.
