Hey guys,

My sister has made a few teddys, they are really luxurious and well made from scratch. If she were to sell them, what kind of price do you think she could charge?.

Thanks for reading,

maybe an angle here would be bespoke products. i.e. she does them specially to order in the customers requirements - she could give them novelty names to match the recipient or maybe could incorporate a lock of babies hair in the stuffing to make it unique to the customer. I haven't looked at any of the photos, but if she could produce a high end product to order,...

Depends on how big they are. My suggestion:
1. Calculate the cost of materials.
2. Add on the cost of electricity (for sewing machine).
3. Assume an hourly rate of £4.00.
4. Add it all together, then double it, and see if anybody will be interested.
Doubling all the costs gives your sister some room for haggling.
Best of luck.
How big? Define "luxurious"?
Hard to say really without a pic. Your sister would have to make sure they were safe to sell on, for example .. eyes well sewn on ect ..

above is a pic of the first one she made, it takes her along time to make and she doesn't use a sewing machine so don't think she'd be able to make much for the work, but it might be ok for a bit of extra cash here and there.

I think they cost her about £7 each bear for materials...

Ahh! Your sister is clever! They're cute! How tall are they?
I reckon £20-£30 each to someone who loved them.

He looks a little morose to me though.

She is clever i could never do anything like it or have the patience, i'd say roughly the size of an A4 sheet of paper (bit random i know) but a decent size...
I think the expression on the bears face is cute spam!As I said earlier though ... your sisiter would have to make sure that material/eyes/filling used can't be pulled and tugged out in to little mouths. She has hand sewn them yes?
'Sister'
I would be no good selling things .. I would worry too much about safety.
I agree with the ed, the bear also looks a little 'slim', personally I would pay no more than 7 pound for that.
If I had someone who particularly liked teddies then I would probably not pay more than a fiver for the one in the photo. But then I am very out of date with teddy prices.

AB Editor, i was thinking about £25 myself... i can see what you mean, he does look a little sad

Quassia, yes they have been hand sewn, she may have to put some kind of label on 3+ or something similar. I think it would probably be more of a display kind of bear though... just an idea, she hasn't mentioned selling but i think it would be a good idea as she enjoys making them and can keep doing them if she can sell them on..
It's costing spams sister 7.00 for materials.
look at the price range of these bears of more superior quality
