walking shoes
9 Answers
Hi,
I am off to Tokyo in a September and need to purchase a pair of shoes or trainer type things that will be comfortable to walk miles in, can be worn with trainer type socks or those footsie things and wouldn't look daft with leggings and floaty long tops! Has anyone got any recommendations? I don't really want to spend a fortune either but maybe around £30? thank you!

Try them on though cos the sizes are funny (I'm size 8 and had to buy size 10). Sometimes you can get a bargain. Mine cost me £25 (half price in the sale) and I wear them nearly every day. Had them a year now and good as new. If you have to pay a bit more though it's worth it for the quality. BB
I have been to New York, Rome, Paris and Venice, each for about 4 or 5 days, and before each visit I bought a pair of flattish black shoes from Clarkes. Each one was a different style, but they all did the job, being sturdy and comfortable enough to walk round all day (and evening) in them, but also being smart enough that I didn't feel silly in them. My main criteria for this sort of shoe buying is that they feel soooo comfortable when you put them on you've just got to have them. After my little trips I ended up wearing each pair to work (I stand on my feet all day), so I've definitely got my money out of them!
