Trousers that fit!

I have a problem when shopping for trousers, especially just simple black or grey work ones.  I have a 29-30" waist, am 5' 8" tall and very slim.  Not complaining about this, honest!  Thing is, it seems in most stores, the men's range starts at 32" so I find it very difficult to find any trousers that fit me adequately without a belt.

Does anyone know of any places where I would be able to buy work trousers, in London (preferably central but it doesn't matter,) in my size?  I was thinking of going into the boys' section in shops as I'm sure I could find stuff to fit, but was worried that I might get taken out of the store for being weird!  Any help on this would be appreciated!

Hi VenalWinfrey, what about somewhere like House of Fraser? (the one at London Bridge City side) It's fab and the reason I mention them is that not only do they stock an array of designers and highstreet (not all top dollar either) They offer a free personal shopper and thier instore knowledge is second to none, I'm sure they will have trousers in your size.  My husband recently had to buy a few items including a suit and we were really impressed with the range of sizes, styles etc.

Most shops like BHS, Primark and M&S have one changing room for the whole shop / floor, so there's no reason for you not to pick up boys' trousers and go try them on in the changing room. I don't think they would be what you're looking for but it's worth a try.

Alternatively,  if you don't sew yourself, why not find a dressmaker to alter the trousers for you? Some dry cleaners do alterations, or you could contact your local college and see if they have a fashion department - one of the students there might be willing do alterations for a reasonable fee.

George at Asda
try topman they have a range of trousers where they there is your waist ize andlength of your legs x
TopShop has a "tall" range for girls - I'm your size (by the sounds of tihngs) and their jeans are great for me.  For work - I've always found Next suits (trouser and skirt) fit fairly well.  I guess it also depends on the size of your hips too.  MAybe also try Marks and Spakrs Per Una, or Autograph if you're on a bigger budget!  Good luck!
Yep, Topshop Tall section is defo the way to go :-)
