I won't shoot you, I like ornamental cabbages as decorations.
Yes I've noticed they're back in fashion this year. I grew them in my garden about 10 years ago...shame it was also the year of the slug and snail. :o(
When in Pusan, Korea, many years ago, the city's dual carriageways had raised flowerbeds on the central reservations. These were filled with ornamental cabbages, the first I'd seen. They looked fine, and stood up to the below zero temperatures the city was experiencing, whereas flowers wouldn't have. Could have fed the city, I reckoned.
Can you eat them?
Yes, they're edible, though some may taste a bit strong and so not to everyone's taste.
My friend had some of these in her house last week. They look fine, but the thing I noticed was that they smelled of cabbage!
