paypal purchase

I have just arranged to buy an expensive phone on ebay which has been re listed due to time wasters. I sent a message to the person and came to an agreement over the price. He said to send payment straight through paypal to his email.......so I'm guessing as a gift and he said he'll send it out later tonight special delivery.

Am I still covered if the item doesnt arrive or is faulty even though the transaction won't have gone through on ebay. It will be me just sending him the money over paypal.

He has goodfeedback and It was me that contacted him about it all?

you most definately have not bought your item off ebay
what you have done is paid someone who you have never met enough money to but an expensive phone with no comeback if he decides to keep your money.
you have also saved him his ebay fees.
why did you not let him relist it and buy it with full protection at the same price?

I broke all the rules and stupidly sold something "off ebay". I ended up losing the goods and the money. However, after contacting the police and writing to paypal they refunded my money, so things came all right in the end. Good luck Bobby. Should be ok.

i don't think to give a payment in advance after getting service then only we can give payment.

I'm not sure but I think that paypal will not hand over the money until you have aknowledged delivery by giving positive feedback.

Paypal payments are not connected or dependent on feedback, good, bad or ugly.
