Mark One clothing

This is driving me mad, and I am hoping someone can answer this one for me. What was the name of Mark One before they were Mark One. This would have been late 80's early 90's that they were taken over by Mark One ..

Can anyone remember ??

 Is MK1 just the brand within MarkOne/their radio station?  Or was that what it was called before?

I remember shopping at Mark One in the mid eighties. Maybe they bought a chain of shops which was local to you.

I don't remember them being called anything else.  Where I live Mark One opened up in an old card shop so definately didn't take over another clothes shop (at least not here)

Our Mark One is now shortened to MKOne.  We also have West One, so they're defo different shops & yep, 915 is the teen range at New Look.

I think maybe your local store was just a premises that Mark One took over. Mark One's parent company is called Northworld and Mark One was established by them in 1985. I dont think they actually took over any companies, just moved into stores in towns as part of their expansion.

I know when MKone first opened it was selling 'INFLUENCE' clothing in so maybe it had something to do with that shop which originated from the eighties???
