Don't know much about these things but just a thought it might just be the belt that is broken or come off.
I bought a Trinity Bendix Condenser dryer about 2 years ago, think it cost about £190. It works fine, does the job.

This happen to ours and the old man just replaced the Drive belt. Here's some instructions that might help.

Good luck with it.

thanks mazie. I dont know whether we dare try it ourselves. I suppose its just confidence. If someone cant come today or tomorrow though, perhaps we might give it a go.
At least the sun's shining at the moment TOH, and for the next fews days ( fongers crossed), so hopefully you won't need to use the dryer.
We've done it twice now, well, that's the royal "We" and I think it's an easy thing to do. There's not much at all inside a tumble drier. It's worth a shot . Let us know how you get on x

It is supposed to be a better weekend weatherwise but I find at this time of year you still need to finish them off in the dryer.
I will let you know how we get on. I will try to phone the fixit man as soon as I can and hopefully he will come today
calling an engneer is hardly worth it , they normally want £50 just to turn up and look at it. The problem is probably that the drive belt snapped or come off , does the motor run but the drum not turn? If so it IS the drive belt . This is very easy to fix , you just take the back off and you should be able to see the drum with the belt round it. If the belt is off or snapped it will be lying inside the dryer but not round the drum, so just put it back on or get a new one and put that on.
The cheapest new driers are around £120 so it is hardly worth paying a repair man £50 call out plus parts and labour.
Try a washing line from Wilko, much cheaper
Get one with a really big door, the last one we got from Curry's is excellent.

I managed to get a good local reliable man here at 10.30. this morning. It was the drum shaft that had severed. Here about 45mins. Cost £50. Im quite happy with that. better than the cost of a new machine.

Thanks everyone
Glad it worked out OK for you.. Just in time by the looks of all these black clouds hovering over my house. x

me too mazie. wasnt looking forward to taking it all to laundrette to dry. Some folk arent fussy about what they put in those machines. I used to use them myself in our early marriage years before we had a machine so I know that some people have no choice. Im getting it all nicely dried and put away now. I hate having washing hanging about
Me too (washing hanging about bit)

Just washed a chair cover and the blood thing blew off the line. Gotta do it all over again !!
where did my "Y" go?
