Special offers
5 Answers
I get a bit fed up with special offers, price reductions, three for the price of two, 'points' for this and that - anything it seems to persuade me to buy something whether I really need it or not. If I’m actually looking for something I might compare one shop's prices with another, but all these gimmicky things don’t persuade me to buy just for the sake of buying. Goods should be labelled with a fair price, plain and simple. Am I alone or do others share my views about this? Have you had any particularly interesting experiences of this kind?

Everything has to be paid somewhere along the line. Special offers etc. mean that the price was too high in the first place.” This is what set me thinking - hence my questions. Thank you for your responses. To some extent I agree with you but have reservations about tactics.
If a price is reduced on something one week it means it is going up in price soon after (ie £1.40 then buy one get one free then £1.47).
Special offers, price reductions, three for the price of two, 'points' are designed to get you to spend. Shopping is physiological, everything from special offers to where everything is placed.
