colour Swatches
Hey GucciGal.
Would you tell me more about the above. It sounds really interesting. How big is that book you walk around with? Being a winter colour what colours would suit you then? What determine you being Winter?
I know some colours certainly don't suit me. Because I've got red hair and skin tones to suit I never wear red tones incl.pink, on top, and yellow just makes me look ill and washed out. Is it along those lines that it gets done?

The swatch book is the size of a cheque book. It doesn't go by colour like "green not blue" but by tones. Most people should wear yellowy tones or bluey tones. All colours are more one or the other. I was amazed to find that I can wear yellow very successfully. I was also advised never to wear plain colours, but to always have a small logo or a pattern or accessory somewhere. Something to break up the block of colour. It's all very interesting. Helps you to learn about colour co-ordination too. By the way - EVERYONE can wear purple and turqoise. That's why you see so many purple "shirt and tie" sets around Xmas and Fathers' Day.
I'm a clear spring by the way.
hello Happy_face! Lovely to hear from you! sorry it took me so long to find a special posting just for me! I've written loads, hope I haven't gone on too much .....
Yes, as the lady above me has stated I had a half day session with a lady in my area and I found her at www.houseofcolour.co.uk . I had a fab time and as you know it has made all the difference, not only to my wardrobe but my confidence has rocketed! Yes, my wallet the size of a credit card holder and all 36 swatches are inside. The booklet is thin and easy to carry around with me. It's hard to describe how she knows, because before she even tried the swatches on me, she already had in her mind that I was a winter. (she told me after) She's been doing it for ten years so I guess it was easy for her to do this as I am a pale, dark haired, brown eyed Italian. I knew that gold wasn't my colour and therefore presumed I was a blue based person (you are either yellow or blue)
Right, next thing, Winter is very bright, clear, bold colours, black is included but no browns can be worn ever. Pastels (not that I wear them really) can only be icy tones and no "peach or warm" type tones suit me, which is cool because the colours I can wear are all lovely and I'm enjoying buying such different things.
Anyway back to you, I think you are so right in choosing not to wear those colours but I bet you'd be really surprised to see what else DOES suit you.
Finally, the cost was 80.00 but worth every penny! For the record, you don't have to chuck out everything when you get back home after having it done, you can just replace things slowly which is what I've done .... oh and finally everything in your spectrum matches everything else, so in theory you can wear 2, 3, even 4 colours together and they should match, mine do, and it works!
Really hope that helps. Annie xx
