Does anyone use it...is it worth the £49 per year?

I agreed to the free trial and my order was delivered the next day. Impressive but I don't order much from Amazon so I was upset to see they had charged me £49, admittedly for a year's free delivery. Thankfully they have agreed to refund it. If you do go for it you may have to go into 'Do not renew' for 2014.

I use it. I'm sure I've saved over £49 in delivery charges so far, but it's worth bearing in mind that not all items on Amazon are subject to the t&cs of Prime.

You can also share the perks with (I think) up to 4 friends or family, so it could work out even cheaper if you can find others to help pay for it.

Whether it's worth it depends very much on how much you buy from them and how quickly you want it.

I tend to want things NOW...and there is also the nuisance of postal redelivery when I'm not home.
I've also just noticed it included free book borrowing for kindle owners. I wonder if that includes kindle apps.

I'm not sure about the Kindle stuff (sorry!), but I like getting things NOW too!

Things usually arrive the next day, sometimes it's a couple of days to get to me, but I seem to live at the end of the Earth...

i am on the free trial at the mo (and have ticked "do not automatically renew so i don't get charged) however, have just realised last week my husband has it too, and you can add 4 people at the same address for free, so will bung on his rather than renew.
I think it's worth it for the discounts you can get extra on the subscribe and save stuff (eg 20% off the s and s price). Beware though, if you are getting it for the kindle lending library, you can only borrow 1 book a month

the free borrowing is only for Kindle owners not for app users. I reckon I save megabucks with the prime subscription, and if you subscribe to get regular deliveries of something, then there is also a 5 to 15% discount. It reduces the cost of my dogfood markedly and they were the cheapest place to start off with.
