my mums birthday on sunday and i havent a clue what to get her!

she is in her early 40's and i would like something uniqueish and not too expensive!!!

no flowers or chocs, please help!!!

Nice piece of glassware or silverware?  Jewellery?

How much is "not too expensive"?  I've no idea of your budget which restricts suggestions. 

What about a thing to do - like the Red Letter Days.  A flying lesson or a day at a spa or something like that!?  Would be handy if you had siblings to club together with!!  (I don't - it's a pain at birthdays!!!)

Give us a clue with the money front and I'll try to keep my thinking cap on!!! :-)

buy a small basket(seagrass or like) and fill it with lots of little presents..look in the pier  and arty crafty type shops for small thing that cost 2 or 3 quid,little soaps and candles,it shows you put some thought in to it and the basket can be used again..
