The major technology magazines were reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 (as a new product) around the middle of last year.

me again, the reason I asked what year this device came out was because im finding it very hard to buy a case for this product and have had to buy one on ebay from USA which takes forever to arrive (samsung mp3 player 4.2), does anyone know where I can purchase one TIA

Most sellers seem to be in the USA. That, and the fact that all of the product reviews seem to come from US journals, strongly suggests that your product was never officially marketed in the UK.
