Where can I get reasonably prices fitted sheets that will fit a king sized bed - bearing in mind the mattress is about 4-5 inches high - I struggle with the ones I have. Thanks

My favourites were called Egyptian percale luxury sheets from Matalan, soft and much nicer than more expensive brands, under £20 last time I bought them, I went out of my way to get them.

thanks negomi - have heard of those Egyptian sheets - but would have thought of going to Mataln.
can't beat M&S for me - better depth for deeper mattresses too - not much dearer than others either - wash brilliantly without any "pilling"
Dunelm Mill have a huge selection of varying quality and price. If you dont have a store near to you have a look on line.
I love Dunelms for bedding. They are my favourite store and have plenty on show conne.
marks and sparks, the tencel ones are brilliant, very soft, non iron and comfortable whatever the temperature.

went to Matalan but had none - went to Dunelm and the egyptian ones there were £28 so maybe nearer the end of the month!!.

Woof I did hear maybe on this site about the tencel ones - I am in town on Wednesday and will look those up. I just love a comfy bed - thanks all for your answers Conne
I can't understand why so my bedding manufacturers don't bother putting the depth of their fitted sheets on their packaging. Usually, shop assistants can't tell you either. Coming home to find you've just bought an 8" depth sheet for your 10" deep mattress is frustrating, to put it mildly..
4-5 inch depth mattress is very thin, are you sure thats all it is?
TK Maxx usually have a good selection of egyptian sheets at very good prices
I was going to recommend Sheridan as they have a really deep fitted sheet with excellent thread count but now realise you mattress is really rather shallow.

I would have thought M&S or any other Hight St store would have sheets that fitted such a thin mattress, or is that the problem the sheets are too loose?
Question Author
as usual did not do my research - just after taping the mattress it is 10" high.
I can't be doing with all the ironing of Egyptian sheets. Instead I go for a basic affordable cotton sheet from Debenhams. They have all the colours in all the sizes, fitted or flat.
Connemmara for info - Marks and Spencers near me have 20 percent off household items now, I got one of the tencel sheets to try today 20% cheaper, it applies to all the household departments (kitchen, bedding), I assume all stores but not certain
