I have just found out I am being taken out for the day to Goodwood Races on Thursday- What on Earth do I wear?  Is there a dress code?  Shoe help needed especially!

I just happened to hear that lady who's on early on Radio 2 giving advice on that subject. It is horseracing you are going to isn't it Kilala ? She stipulated 'smart casual, and whatever your shoes are, they must be flat.' Sorry I'm not much help there as I've never been to the races and my own dress code is 'scruffy'.

thanks

(flat shoes so you don't sink into the grass)!

That's what I figured!  I am a jeans and trainers gal, and on big nights out might stretch to trousers and shoes and strappy top.  I have been informed that i am to wear a skirt, look smart and sexy, but be practical too, as we leave at half seven (am) then return very late...

Thank you both.  Flat shoes it is! :o )

I wore wedges- a compromise- I was the only one not sinking!  Thanks for your help.
