There is a movement towards providing all sorts of non-food items which are Halal. If you go to an area of Muslim people, you may well be able to buy Halal goods which are certified free of animal connections.
Is he not allowed to touch animals?. If there is some rule about touching dead animals, remember that the epidermis(outer layer of the skin) is dead. He isn't going to eat it is he?
Atalanta, 'halal' just means ritually killed to conform to the directives of the koran and I believe applies to foodstuff because of the directive not to eat blood.
Sorry that was a bit stupid. I should gave said bath and shower gel etc
He doesn't eat, use or wear anything to do with animals or by products of animals
Of course he does Maggie almost every atom or molecule has been through an animal many times. The only way to avoid using animal related products is to die.
The problem with products claiming to be 'not tested on animals' is that although the finished item may not have been but some of the individual ingredients may have.
Hope that makes sense.
woofgang, I was just following a line of reasoning following the premise that any substance connected with exploitation of or cruelty to animals is untouchable. So how removed from 'sin' does an item have to be before it become 'kosher'?
Thank you all. I have found l product called Bulldog which isn't tested on animals or contain animal products. The other gift can go to his brother.. Next time it will be a gift voucher
