Don't go there nearly as much as I used to (I have an 'Express' 3 mins walk and a superstore 3 mins drive away) because of the quality if their meat, chicken was OK but could never seem to get decent beef, lamb or pork.
Surprisingly(?) I now get meat from Aldi and everything else I need at the same time
Just yesterday, I had a bad experience at Tesco in Bridgend. I had a query at customer services, the response was unhelpful to the point of rudeness. I used to manage a customer service department, I was left wondering if the person had received any training in customer care at all. It's not rocket science, Tesco needs to get its act together. I prefer Asda.
No problem with staff at our local Tesco - all keen to please, and show concern if I have a complaint. But an Asda opened recently in our town, and their lower prices mean that Tesco's is now sometimes almost deserted. Again, why should Tesco charge 30% or so more for the same items as are stocked by the likes of Iceland, Farm Foods, B&M, etc, etc, yet expect customer to roll up to the door?
Tesco's are ok - their profits problems have been caused by the arrival of Aldi and Lidl as cut-price supermarkets.
I was persuaded to try our new Aldi in Bishops Stortford and couldn't see what the fuss was about. The store was a bit of a muddle and there was a funny smell - I won't be going back!
I think Tesco should keep on doing what their doing and ride out the mini-storm.
