Gum Tree is good. It's all over the country. You just need to be sure you buy / sell in your local area.

We put exercise equipment on gumtree and it was bought and collected within the hour

I tried ebid , 8 items for 2 months and no bids. Put them back on eBay and sold the lot in 3 days.
A lot of stuff sells on Facebook but it is not an auction , just fixed price.

I've bid at several auctions via http://www.the-saleroom.com but have always been outbid.

(This site doesn't actually run auctions itself, it gives you internet access to real auctions throughout the country - in fact throughout the world)
