Should I be shopping there?
Are they really cheaper, or do you just get what you pay for?

I use Aldi for a lot of shopping, but still go elsewhere for other branded items. In particular, I buy Aldi washing powder, and makeup - excellent stuff, and dirt cheap. Their biscuit equivalents of things like KitKats are just as good as the real thing, too. Ham, cheese etc - can't beat them.

We use both Aldi and Lidl, and find them to be much cheaper. Most of the stuff we've bought there has been great, I find their fruit and veg to be excellent. I like the fact that I'm not paying for fancy displays, music or a fancy pants shop.
The only thing is that you can't get most brand stuff like Heinz tomato sauce or Helmanns mayo, so I do need to nip into Sainsburys for stuff like that.
