I`ve got a Roberts DAB in the kitchen and the sound is not good at all. It is disorted when the volume is turned up and there is some sort of connection problem that is only fixed when I thump it. It`s not that old either so I`m not very impressed. I`ve got a stereo Pure Radio in the bedroom and I`m pleased with that though.
Most decent-sounding DAB radios are quite expensive...cheap ones tend to be mediocre at best. However, in the latest Which? test, this John Lewis own-brand was the cheapest Best Buy DAB radio:
Kempton Park Market have had a huge batch of those John Lewis radios recently. I picked up one (not the stereo) for £9 and the stereos were going for £29. After I bought mine (I just wanted a cheap DAB for the bathroom) I googled some review sites. They got terrible reviews - which is why they ended up being bought by the traders at Kempton.
Just bear in mind that they keep threatening to abolish the FM waveband, so make sure it can receive DAB.
We bought this radio about 6 months ago - very pleased. It also receives internet radio - gives you thousands of stations. It just links to your router, either with an internet cable or wirelessly.
