Watchdog.criticism Of Asda
5 Answers
On the Watchdog programme last night, Asda Stores in Hollingbury, Brighton
were criticised for poor service such as late deliveries, supply of items with a use by date of one day only and ridiculous substitutions.
I have used their on line shopping service for over 15 years and have nothing but praise for them.
On the rare occasions that they were late they compensated me by giving me a free delivery voucher for my next order.
I once received a box of 15 eggs and found that one was broken, but they refunded the price in full.
I also receive refunds with their "Asda Price Guarantee" where they pay the difference if they are not cheaper than 3 other supermarkets.

Personally I don't get deliveries. I may as well go to them and get what I want than hang around waiting for a delivery.
What ticks me off is when a supermarket gives me a slip of paper saying how much I would have saved at other supermarkets, and if demean myself with the hassle of bringing it along next time I can get a few pence off the next shop. Grrr If they were truly interested in being as good price-wise they'd have knocked it off the present bill.

soz for late reply but have just found this and as i also saw the watchdog programme i thought i would post what my friends husband (asda home delivery driver) has said about working for them and i quote "orders are often late as their times for delivery are unrealistic, they expect the driver to deliver the shopping for example 7 miles from last drop off in about 2 minutes (ferrari needed) items which have been substituted are often nothing like what was originally ordered for example a size 16 shirt was substituted for x2 sizes 8s. sat navs are not available and drivers use their own, after all who knows where every single street/house is so these are a necessity. they had to beg for phones so that they could ring customers if they were going to be late, asda basically have alot of problems and whilst i have some agreement with the programe i also think that alot of it has to do with the people in charge
