Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat? Is it as good as it's made out to be? Or should I just stick to a cheap concealer?

Hi Shazzabell.  I use it, sadly became hooked after my sister lent me hers.  It is pricy, but a little goes a long long way!

I use it to conceal dark circles under my eyes, but you can use it as a base for your eyeshadow too.  makes a really diff, the shadow lasts all day and doesnt crease at all.  You can use it anywhere you might have shadows or lines, such as round the corners of your nose and so on.  Not really a concealer for spots tho, it reflects light and so might make them look worse!

Hope that helps!

Thanks larakitten, I've decided to buy one!

Hi shazzabell, I bought one on eBay as I wasn't sure either (and I hate to spend money on make-up - I only use mascara and lip gloss, I had given up on concealers).  It's the closest a mere mortal will get to airbrushing that's for sure!

Only con: I find that if I use it under my eyes (after a late night out for example!) towards the end of the day my mascara tries to run - urgh!

It lasts ages though and is the best product to even out skintone.

Ohmygod... it sounds fab so i just looked at it on ebay... does it really cost that much???

Hi fairy!, it is expensive, i was 21 from the YSL counter in Boots for mine, but Ive never met a better concealer!

Worth every penny Id say!!

I actually find it rubbish without another concealer first, I use an Almay one and then the YSL over the top, at first I thought it wasn't making that much difference but then when I tried a cheaper one that claims to do the same things I realised that the YSL is in fact pretty good...so now I'm hooked.  I have a sharp intake of breath every time I hand over the cash for one.  But i do agree that it lasts a long time.  I've never found that it causes my mascara to run either.
Unfortunately never worked for me at all. Never could understand what the big fuss was about :(
hi, i find touche eclat isn't the best on the market but it is good. try touche magique from l'oreal. it comes in six shades and costs 6.99. its thicker than touche eclat, lasts longer, has better coverage and i have used it for the past year in my make-up kit for both magazine shoots and wedding make-up. i think its great and the brush doesn't start to smell like the touche eclat one does....the packaging isn't as nice though! but this make-up artist loves the l'oreal and saves a fortune!

gherkinfiend thanks for the tip I'll try that one before my Touche Eclat runs out. (Had it for months and the brush doesn't smell though!!)

I guess different products work for different people, if Touche Magique works for me it'll save a fortune. Thanks again!

Er, what causes the brush to smell? And what does it smell of?!
I'm in two minds now whether to buy it. Might try a cheaper brand first?

Hi shazzabell!

Well I've tried them both now and can definitely say Touche Magique is as good as Touche Eclat!  I'm shocked!

The only difference I can see is that YSL's is pinker, which for some people might be a more flattering tone.  Either one might or might not work for you but I'd rather fork out a few quid than 22 any day!

Just to reiterate though, I've had Touche Eclat a good few months and the brush does not smell at all.
