Gumtree Payment

I have received an offer for a item I have advertised on Gumtree. The enquirer is suggesting payment by pay pal and requires my bank details.
Is this safe to give him my bank details so he can credit my account?
Thank you

Pay pal has all the info and they do the work....but you do need a Pay pal account yourself (I find it invaluable). If you don't have one, then open one.....but I wouldn't give this individual any info. relating to my bank account.
I sold a mobile phone on Gumtree, within two hours of listing it.
The chap came straight away to buy it, I think he was a drug dealer.
Sat outside my house in his car with heavily tinted windows, sent me a text to say he was outside and wound down his window just enough to get his hand through with the cash.
I did take a note of his registration number - can never be too careful
