Has anyone ever bought one of these hampers? You know the meat and or grocery ones? I am wondering if they are worth the money. I'm thinking about for next year

there not worth it, I bought one and when it came I was dissapointed, I could have bought twice the amount of food if i had gone to the supermarket....suggestion for the money you put away each week for the hamper save it yourself and pick your own food at christmas, also you end up gettin food you dont eat in the hamper. hope this helps.

That's great thanks yolly, good idea I'll do that x x
Yes I've also tried them and was really dissapointed with the contents......did'nt even use half the stuff! Now my friend.....the same one who got us to buy the hampers.....takes money from each of us in the office every week and buys Tesco stamps which we get back in December ~ much better idea as now we can choose our own food and drink etc!

Hhhmm yes maybe stamps would be better, I would just spend the cash lol
Hee hee....that's partly why I get the stamps!

oh good it's not just me then lol

Personally, I would prefer to buy food seperately and not in a hamper.

P.S. I've just found a Christmas pudding in the back of my cupboard from last year, fortunately, it reads: Use by 23 May 2006 - so that'll come in handy!

My daughter did that one christmas and as yolly says you get lots of things you wouldn't use like meat pies, tins of soup. Not very Christmassy. Best to buy stamps or start early and buy an extra couple of things each week like tins or packets and keep them in a box somewhere. Its surprising when you get the box out before christmas how much you have.
