Thinking of buying a mobility scooter, but most of the ones I like in the classified and ebay are collection only. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced courier or transporter. Most of the ones I've looked at just deliver parcels apart from movers of furniture who are very expensive. Hoping someone can help.

Just some advice if you are buying second hand, which it looks like you are. I've needed one since 2013, and in that time I have purchased THREE new ones, each well over a thousand pounds. They go down in speed and reliability in time, even after a service. My current one was bought because it had a distance per full charge of over 25 miles. The reality in use though...

Try 'man and van' ads in your local paper?
I have just bought one. I was very fortunate that there is a shop in my home town which deals in disability aids so they delivered it to my door and gave me instructions on how to use it. Perhaps you could try and see if there is a similar place local to you.

I've never seen that advert. There is a similar one on line but when I looked into it they were going to charge £98 which is a lot of money to me. So don't know if thats the average.

Hi Jackdaw33 - Looking to buy one second hand. The dealers seem expensive.
They deal in second hand ones too. I admit mine was expensive as it is brand new, it cost me £1200. Have you tried looking on Amazon?

The reality in use though is that it doesn't. Going up and down hills reduces that. My current one had a service and new batteries in December, yet it really is good enough only for trips into town, about a mile or so.

People may sell because they want to be rid of a pup, so beware.

There are leasing companies who will happily deliver - just Google. Not sure if they are for disabled only though. Proof may be required. I say that because it affects the leasing charges, as genuine disabled are VAT exempt.

That's all I bought mine for, trips into town, about a mile round trip. Anything else is a taxi job.
