Turntable To Display Hologram Disk
3 Answers
Probably a long shot but I'd like to find the item in the title above.
Decades ago, on my trip to the US I saw a street trader flogging both a small turntable with overhead light, and holographic disks. Put the disk on the turntable under the light and it revolves, and the image of whatever is captured on the disk appears above it.
Wanted to get it but being unenthusiastic regarding carting the turntable back home and maybe damaging it, I asked how much for the disk alone; and bought it. I thought it can be hard to create a turntable from a stepper motor and added light. But the disk has laid unused ever since.
Anyone seen this sort of item and know where a turntable can be bought ? Failing that, anyone know where one can download "blueprints" to build one (maybe in a couple more decades time) ?
Cheers.

The figure it encapsulates appears in 3D above it as the light from above shines on the disk. Theoretically I ought to be about to knock a turntable together to display it, but in over 30 years I've not got around to it; so would be interested if they were still sold.
