Where would I look for elasticated fabric to make trousers from?

M&s used to sell ‘cotton rich dance trousers’ made from some sort of stretchy material - you can no longer get them, so making them might be a solution.

if you google elasticated or stretchy material you will find several sites to look at, if you just need material.
This looks a good company and will probably advise if you aren't sure which to go for.

We dug a bit deeper and one or two of those websites offer a swatch service (for a couple of quid) so we've ordered some which seem to match the fabric (90% bamboo!). But we're well on the way to finally getting me a couple of pairs of those trousers! So many thanks.

Good luck.
Question Author
Well, I'd been searching (in vain) for these particular trousers for several years (!), when it occurred to me that Mrs B had been an excellent seamstress - in her youth, she was always knocking out trousers, dresses, anything at all, from all sorts of materials - so if we could find the right (same) material, the task would be easy for her.

I'll report back once I'm wearing them!
