Please can anyone help me find something bright and festive for the Christmas meal?

The problem is that it needs to be wipe clean as we're a mucky lot - not only that but our table is not a standard size being only 120 x 180cms. There is a website in China but it looks a bit iffy. Thanks for any help.

You obviously don't shop in 'pound shops' and the like! This time of the year they're full of items which will fit the bill and they're all dirt cheap!

Like Wilkinsons, Chris? I went there first, no luck only paper cloths.

You could give Superdrug a try Cetti. I got one from there (not Christmas design) for when my granddaughters visit & play/eat at the table. It's amazing how much mess there is from a little egg-custardy sneeze!! If they dont have a Christmas one maybe there'll be a red or gold that you could dress up with table decorations. Have a lovely dinner!

Thanks Robinia, I'll ring in a few mo's. I honestly thought it would be so easy, but not a bit of it. Paper ones galore, pvc ones big enough to fit a table for 40 bods, and that's yer lot. As the wine progresses we get messier.....!!
I hope you have some luck Cetti but you could also try your local fabric stores for pvc coated fabrics for tables. This might work out a bit more expensive but it has the advantage of a non-slip backing & you'd be able to use it Christmas after Christmas......!

I think I may be in luck Robinia, Superdrug didn't have them but a very helpful lady there gave me a couple of names to try locally so I'll give them a go at the weekend. Backing is also a great idea to protect my beautiful new table - now added to the shopping list. You are a clever girl, I really do appreciate your help.
I got a matching lot of tablecloth, crackers etc from Asda.

Thanks spudqueen. With so much help I think I'll be buying up all the pvc tablecloth stock.....!

Hi Cetti I was wondering whether you found a cloth? Oddly enough as I stood in the queue at my local Post Office today I looked down & there were some lovely ones! White with a gold & silver design - so I bought one & for a mere 1.20!! It's a bit thin but would be fine over another cloth or table protector. (It's made by Anker International) So if you're still hunting check out your PO!

Sorry I'm so late in replying Robinia ...No, The elusive cloth still remains...elusive.

PO's would be a great idea if the powers that be hadn't closed all ours down. They used to sell just about everything, especially all the useless but very necessary knick knacky things. I have a feeling my cake as well as my table will be naked this year as now the shops have sold out of Regalice!

Oh dear that's a shame Cetti - you'll probably find lots the week after Christmas. I'd send you one by pigeon post but I can't find any volunteers I'm afraid, they're all much too busy stuffing their beaks!

In case you read this Robinia - I've located the offending item!

I must be honest it wasn't me but the husband who found a rather lovely red one in Woollies. He's like a bloodhound sniffs out anything and everything!
