Bought an item on Ebay which I paid for with my debit card not Paypal, I have returned it and have received an email from Paypal saying that the refund is being processed but in the meantime I have received a new debit card from my bank with a different number. Will this cause any problems or will it just go through automatically?
hmm I think you might place a few calls - bank and paypal
Paypal - you can get thro (to a different person everytime) and a "result" we have stopped using them (hence advice to phone) - basically they jsut say it is someone elses problem
Thanks Peter - that's one reason I don't use Paypal but seems like the seller must do. Will give it a couple of days and hope the bank allows for a transition period on card numbers.
when you say you paid with a debit card, not paypal, do you mean
1) a debit card defined to paypal but just not via paypal
2) a debit card not even defined to paypal
3) a debit card defined to paypal via paypal but not using your paypal balance?
Barry don't worry about it. Something similar happened to me and I did nothing and waited. The money automatically went to the new card. This was with Barclays Bank.
If the seller has used PayPal to accept payment, then Paypal will refund the buyer regardless of what method of payment was used to purchase the item. You should have no problem with your refund. as I think when you change your debit card your old number is linked to your bank account for at least 30 days, maybe longer.

nope - this just isnt true
they closed the account and said they had done so because they could. I emailed the CEO ( of course!) and asked what he was for and got no reply
and so I concluded he was for making lots and lots of mookah for himself
a seller cannot receive into paypal except from a paypal account, that's how it works. I can't pay a paypal account (which uses an email address), except from another paypal account. That is why I am confused by this question and need clarification.
@17.47...."you just as well pay with a credit card".
I use Paypal because I don't want to give my credit (or debit) card details to every Tom/Dick/Harry (along with my name and address, of course) that I may order from on the internet.
