don't know about shops but it's available on line
The fmcg company says that the Persil washing up liquid brand is the only brand it will discontinue and the Persil laundry detergent brand will not be affected. The decision to cut the brand is part of Unilever's plans to reduce its range of SKUs by 40% by the end of the year.

^^^not too difficult to find info online.........
Always a tell-tale sign when things disappear from supermarket shelves and become available in pound shops and on eBay...
As LB says, it was discontinued in 2009...then relaunched in 2011. I've not found out what's happened between now and then.
It's always something you like that gets discontinued.
Otherwise you wouldn't know it's been discontinued
SKU?
Plenty in our shops.

do people have favourite washing up liquids? just curious
Course they do, ael, otherwise the expensive brands would have disappeared a long time ago
I always buy a Supermarket's 'own brand'.

Supermarkets Do Not manufacture items sold under their names and if you look carefully at the shape of the bottles, jars, etc., and, compare with other makes alongside them, it is possible sometimes to identify the actual manufacturer.

The stock keeping unit is a unique code assigned to a product by a retail store to for inventory management, flow, and sales tracking.

What's special about Persil? I have managed long enough without it.
^^^that's good...so have I.
I use Fairy instead...
Stock keeping unit. A common, well-known phrase used in everyday parlance. So it's another phrase for 'item'.
Tesco still sell it.
