A suit for a non-conformist body!
3 Answers
Hi; my boyfriend is looking for a smart suit that actually fits him... He is 5'8" with very broad shoulders, short neck and short arms and legs- sounds very odd, but he's a rugby player, so his weight is all across his shoulders! We get married next year and he wants a suit that will fit properly instead of having arms that are 2' too long, and either splitting at the back or sagging monumentally at the front. It isn't a morning suit sort of wedding, he needs a decent suit that will last him. Any ideas? Shirts also- he has a 18.5 - 19" neck...

How about having a suit made? I know it will be more expensive but as it's for your wedding........
Anyway the suit will last for years if it's well made (especially for the christening of your future little one????)
Should imagine you can get the shirt made to measure as well.
I agree with BOO. You would be surprised how inexpensive a bespoke suit can be. Tailors are bit difficult to find nowadays but depending on the material you choose they are not that much more expensive than off the peg. A bespoke suit can be altered easier aswell at a later date and there is the obvious bonus of getting the style and cut you want - the tailor will also know the best way of making the best of your boyfriends physique. Shirtmakers do still exist but are a bit rarer - the tailor will know. You only get married once (i hope) so its worth the effort isnt it?
