I have an item that was given to me during lockdown and Its too small. It was a gift so have no payment slip. Does anyone know how long you can have an item before you can return it. It still has its original lable. I don't want money just to exchange for a different size. Haven't been able to get to shops recently.

If labels attached and its undamaged I don't see a problem with exchanging if they got your size
they won't take any item back if you have no receipt. I tried and failed.
It's worth a try as you only want to exchange it.Different Primark shops may have different returns policy.
If you don't have a receipt what's to stop someone just taking an item from the shelf to the cash desk & asking for a refund?
Were you trying to exchange for same item or get refunded emmie? And was there lable still on?
It's perhaps unlikely that they will have the same items for sale now...don't they change stock quickly?
no Danny they don't. I wanted to return a couple of shirts, couldn't find the bill anywhere, both new, even spoke to the Manager - no dice.
if you try they might do it, but not in my limited experience....
Dave, genie does not want a refund, she wants to exchange the item.
bobb, labels still on and everything, i wanted a refund, they wouldn't do it with out a receipt.
emmie, as I said, different managers may have different returns policies.
well genie you can only try.....
genie doesn't want a refund. I imagine they will change it for a different size. No need to tell them when you received the gift, genie. It could have been yesterday.
Worth a try but you`d be lucky to find the same item again as they tend to get only one batch of a style in and when it's gone, it's gone.

Thanks everyone. I will give it a try they may be more sympathetic because of not being able to get to the shops. Fingers crossed or it will be an item for the charity shop. Someone will benefit.

Genie, as I said, you don't have to tell them when you received it. Just say it was a gift.
//Dave, genie does not want a refund, she wants to exchange the item.//

Same diff - grab an item / ask to exchange it for a different size & walk out with the exchanged item. It's pretty much chaos in the Primark I've been to & doing exchanges (or refunds) without a receipt would be an open invitation to shop lifters.

In fact if you take an item back into the shop without a receipt I think you would pretty much put yourself at risk of being accused of shop lifting!
237SJ's link is quite clear - no dice I'm afraid.
