Monday & Tuesday are designated bank holidays.I imagine some shops will close and some will open.
M&S stores are open normally (except that those that usually open at 8am won't open until 9am on Monday).

As T K Maxx are open on Sunday (1100-1700), it seems reasonable to assume that they'll be trading normally on Monday as well. [Only the current week is shown on their website].

Similarly Matalan is open on Sunday (1000-1600), so they're almost certainly open on Monday.
I really wish that the shops would close down for the whole Christmas period like they used to. We managed then and it's far easier to manage now. Shining earth really needed to shop over Christmas!
Shining earth!!!! Should be who on earth.

Er, when was that then, Lottie? It certainly wasn't when I was a child, when newspapers and TV screen were all filled with adverts around this time of year for the Boxing Day Sales!
I can remember supermarkets closing for several days over Christmas. Also I remember the sales starting on January 1st before that day became a bank holiday and you'd see scenes of absolute mayhem at the china counter in Harrods.
Before then Chris. Before adverts on TV. Before homes had freezers or even fridges. Don't forget I'm an old lady!! Christmas in South London the roads were really quiet too. People were out and about visiting neighbours. The small convenience stores opened for a couple of hours on Boxing day morning. And the sales started in January.
50s and Definitely early 60s Chris!
And the inside windows had icicles!! Not all was better!!! But I can't see the need for shops to be open.
You're back early Lottie.

Our corner shops were always open at some point on Christmas Day for anything you may have forgotten.
^^^Pat --- I remember when it was like that .
I remember that and I am not that old, C and A sale started the day after boxing day but all the big dept stores started their sales on Jan 1st. A few corner shops opened Boxing Day, but wouldn't sell booze. Off licences opened 11.30 am to 3 pm then 6 til 10 pm.
^^^ 40s for me .
That's the same era that I'm talking about, Lottie. (I was born in 1953).
I was born in 1947 and most definitely in was like that until the early 60s. TV adverts started in 1955. Boxing Day Sales definitely didnt start until the 1990s when Sunday trading laws changed.

Old ladies tend to repeat themselves!!!
I'm back early because I was bored. I decided to give AB a break until the New Year! I'm very weak willed!!!
