play.com was recommended to me a couple of months ago & I've ordered many DVD's, CD's & computer games from them for Christmas presents - which has saved me traipsing round some of the busy shops.

The goods are cheaper than most, there's no delivery charges & the service is brilliant.

Anyone else been impressed with their service - or otherwise?

I quite agree! We get loads of stuff from them...well my son does and we have never had any problems.I ordered a video for a friend as a birthday present and they sent it straight on to her.
I had Brideshead Revisited ,Poldark and I Claudis from my menfolk as birthday presents this year ordered from them and was thrilled to bits .Really efficient and I always recommend them.Brilliant website and service.

Yes, very impressed, I have done a lot of my christmas shopping with them this year and their service is excellent, prices are chepaer than most but can occasionally be beaten by blahdvd.com (also Jersey based) and their service is good also.

I know of a certain computer games site which I ordered from this year has been complaining about Jersey based sites and the competition they pose, but when you get service like I did from them, it's not surprising people shop elsewhere. I ordered a game on 1st December, checked the tracking data a few days later it said estimated dispatch date 5/12 which was ok. A few days later I checked and the edd had changed to 12/12 again ok I would receive it for xmas. However when I checked again it had changed again to 'could be after 23/12' obviously not good for a xmas pressie so I cancelled the order and ordered elsewhere and it was shipped the same day by blahdvd. Goodness knows what would have happened if I hadn't checked the tracking system

Have to agree with you there Smudge. The whole package is superb. Can't get over the speed and price of delivery. Awesome! Amazon can't match them.

Morning all - I have tried Kelkoo, Amazon & other companies too, but because play.dot com don't charge P&P on anything, it can work out cheaper in the long run - especially if you add things on to the list at a later date!

P.S. If you ever have to phone play.com, the staff are very helpful & friendly too - which goes a very long way for me!

Play is one of the few companies from whom I buy anything on the internet.

Everything is very competitively priced, and the delivery is free, bargain! I am currently living in Germany, and they even deliver there free of charge too!

Orders are normally received within 3 days of plscing the order, and if you do it before 11am, it will usually come the next day!
