Does anyone know, if there is such a thing, as a slip on walking boot, as I have terrible trouble, bending to do up laces.

What sort of walking do you intend doing? My wife has a pair of gortex waterproof leather chelsea style boots that has had a lot of wear over the ten years or so that she has had them. Rugged sole and zip - suitable for walking over muddy parkland, canal towpaths and of course pavements but not enough ankle support for hillwalking especially on shale or rocks.
She has happily worn them for 10 mile rambles in the rain.
