I am a tall 6.3" man who would like an Inverness cape that goes down to my ankles. Can someone give me a rough idea how much material I would need to supply for one to be made that size please?

Just in case the first link was too tricky.

It won't be an Inverness cape if it reaches your ankles, it should be 18" from the ground.
The amount of material very much depends on your build, too, a portly gent will need a bigger cape than a slim one.
It won't be cheap, have you considered buying a top quality vintage one on the likes of eBay? If looked after they should last a lifetime

Check with whoever is making it, all the patterns I can find only go to midcalf and need 6 metres of 60 inches wide fabric, considering your height you should be able to cut it corrupt length from 8 metres, but a large pattern tweed you may need as much as 9½ for pattern matching., You will also need the same in lining fabric plus about 2 metres of interfacing.
