I would avoid buying a camera that uses AA or AAA batteries (which the Fuji has).

Buy one that has a Lithium Ion battery.

The WORST things about digital cameras is the battery use, and AA or AAA batteries are just not good enough for digital camers, even if they are re-chargable.

Lithium Ion batteres are the type used on Video cameras and they have much more power, and hold their charge much longer than AA type batteries.

If you buy a camera that uses AA or AAA batteries you will probably finish up regretting it.

If you do not believe me go into somewhere like Jessops and ask them for advice and they will confirm Lithium Ion are far better.

Hi vehelpfulguy - just wondering how long a Lithium Ion battery would last before needing to be replaced, in comparison to AA or AAA ones?

Cheers veryhelpfulguy for your advice.I will think about what you said
Lithium Ion batteries can be recharged, so rarely, if ever need to be replaced.

how much do you want to spend? i have this months digital camera shopper so can tell you their recommendations.

if your looking at less than 250, they highly commend the olympus mju digital 500 which they rate as being the best in its class.

i have a canon ixus 400, the ixus are lovely stylish cameras but a bit pricey
