Hi all
I bought a �300+ graphics card on finance (theirs) from Ebuyer in late August last year that has developed a fault i.e. it's knackered (technical term).
During the online returns procedure I was informed that I had the choice of sending it directly back to the manufacturer (in China!) or sending it via Ebuyer. Unsuprisingly I elected to return it via Ebuyer!
However, it did say that returning via the manufacturer could lessen the time it would take by UP TO SIX WEEKS!
No prizes for guessing that this is going to take ages! In light of this I requested an alternative graphics card to see me over this period....the computer is obviously going to be unusable without this component....my question is, if they refuse to provide an alternative for this interim period how do I stand?
I'm going to be making monthly payments for an item not in my posession...and my computer will be unusable.

(i.e. your claim is against the retailer although they, in turn, may claim against the manufacturer). You have every right to demand that the retailer provides either a repair or replacement. (The decision as to whether to repair an item is at the retailer's discretion and not yours). If you are inconvenienced by any unreasonable delay in remedying the fault you're also entitled to charge reasonable compensation from the retailer.
Contact eBuyer and demand an immediate replacement. If they refuse , contact the Trading Standards office for the area where eBuyer are based:
