Hi everyone.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced way of sending a parcel to Norway? It's a coat and will weigh around 2 kilos when packed. I've been horrified at the prices I've come up with so far.

Thank you.

Refering to one of those books that has loads on weird questions in it i look at a question entitled:

"is it cheaper to send yourself as a parcel to austrailia rather than flying on a aeroplane"

obviously you dont want to either send yourself, or go to austrailia but the answer will give you a general ideas of the prices ranges from the different services available.

Air Mail 18.52 for max 2kg

Surface Mail 8.62 max 2kg

Really i dont think this answer will help. but its a shot in the dark.

If, when packaged, the coat is 2kg or less then the cheapest way to send is Royal Mail small packet. Price will be according to weight, 2kg will be around the 10 mark. You'll need a customs label for the outside of your parcel. I know what you mean about the prices; if you go with Parcelforce etc. it's extortionate to send parcels abroad. Should stress that packet will have to be 2kg or less, safer to keep it slightly under. If it's too heavy, Royal Mail won't send it.
Actually Royal Mail will send it if it's over 2kg - it's just that it will count as a letter, not a small packet, for which the rates are not far short of double, or as a parcel, for which I don't know the rates.
