Ipod Nano/Nearest equivalent

I am thinking of buying an Ipod Nano. Does anyone know if there Is any similar product that will do the same things as an Ipod but has a longer battery life of 14HRS, and is cheaper?

If you can get hold of yesterdays Mail On Sunday supplements, they had a page of all the equivalents and how they match up. Can't remember what it said myself as I'm not much interested, but its definitley in one of them.

It did give a rundown of battery life etc but too much to put on here. Trying googling to get info you want. Hope this helps
