Does anyone else hate being asked if you have a 'points' 'nectar' 'club' or any other flippin store loyalty card. I'm sure it was quicker at the checkouts before all this 'funny' business

I've given up with all those cards, apart from the Boots one. I used to have the card before the nectar card where you collected points to spend in Argos, but with the nectar card you need so many points I just can't be bothered.
My answer is, "No, I don't shop here often enough. It's because of your prices!" (I've had checkout assistants to nod in agreement when I've said this!) ;-)
Yep, it does my head in too!

My staff ask every customer for the Nectar card as a matter of curtosy, and you can guarantee that the one customer that they forget to ask will be the one that kicks off and demands the head of the assistant who forgot to add the .0000006p worth of points! I use my Nectar card when i buy petrol, or when I shop at work, and through doing that I had 10 worth of points on it when I wanted some blank CDs from Argos, and they cost me nothing, so i shall keep using it anyway. I have had customers who were given 50,000 Nctar points or something crazy when they bought a new car, and at 2.50 for every 500 points that's not bad.

I let my Tesco ones accumulate right thru the year and they send the vouchers to me in time for Christmas and last year I had 35 worth, this year I have 25 worth already accumulated.

My Bots advantage card doesn't just add points it lets me use it for special offers which is good.

The Texaco Stars one is a bit of a waste cos there is no garage near here now.

I have a Summerfields one which I use occasionally if I call there after work, I know u can onlky get sonme offers with their loyalty card.

matalan is the one that annoys me cos u have to have it to shop there but u get no benefit.

Hiya Dot, I had a Somerfield card aswell (like you because you needed it to get special offers) but they've now decided to get rid of the cards, everyone gets the special offers so you can cut that one up!
cheers spudqueen, i got fed up of their prices anyway so i go to tescos instead.
yeah I hate having to ask every single customer for their Advantage card but as dot.hawkes pointed out, the one customer I don't ask will be the one that kicks off if they've got a card but forgotten to use it.
