Braun Silk Epil

Has anyone purchased this or something similar were you pleased with the results? Is it uncomfortable to use?

Thinking of buying one, just want some feedback first.

Funny you should ask.
Last night I took it out of the drawer because somebody else was asking about it.
And it is still here on the desk.

I did have an older one that I was not too happy with, but recently I bought the Braun Silk-�pil x'elle Type 5395 and I think it's great.

Would not want to change it for the world.

Used to use wax until Veet discontinued the roll on.
The new stuff in the tub is way too messy and does not work well.

So this is the perfect alternative for me!

I have one and wouldn't be without it....It's excellent! I have used other epilators but none are as good or as quick as the Braun Silk Epil.

If you have never used an epilator before it can be quite painful, especially around the ankles. The Braun Silk Epil comes with an ice pack and several interchangeable heads to lessen sensitivity. After the first few times you use it any discomfort is considerably lessened anyway, so it's good to persevere.

You may find that you need to use it more frequently for the first few months but eventually hair regrowth becomes thinner and slower until you only need to use it every 4-6 weeks.

It's so much longer lasting than shaving or using depilatory creams and a lot less expensive than regular waxing. I recommend it highly.

i got one about 2months ago and at first was painfull but once i used it 3 or 4 times i got used to it and would not be without it now

I've been told the trick is first to shave your legs, then use the epilator a few days later. Then there will only be a few hairs to remove (those that were just below the surface when you shaved). Then a quick once over every two or three days keeps it all under control.

It prickles a bit, but if you have reduced the number of hairs you're tackling, it's not bad.

so glad i spotted this thread as have been toying with the idea of buying one of these as been seeing the adverts recently. Bohne and Aprilis - would you think you both have the same items or are they different models or something? Just wanting to get the right thing.

Hi Joannie10....the one I have is the Braun Silk Epil Easy Start Body System. It has everything you need to get started with epilation as comfortably and painlessly as possible. I highly recommend it. And it comes with a nice little zip up bag to keep all the bits in too.
