bar codes

when you go shopping and you know that the checkout person is going to do their very best to break the aluminium slide land speed record i have a novel idea.
go shopping equipped with an indelible marker, every 10th item put a line through the barcode of course this will not scan, and you will get the usual roll of the eyes as they have to put the bar code in by hand,by the time they have done this you should have the previous 9 items packed away ready then to go back to your shopping to repeat again, hope this will help, especially useful for the elderly as this gives them time to pack at their pace.

They take stuff out of her trolley, scan, pack, take the trolley to the seat she`s on, take her money, cash up & take change back. It`s great to have have this service when you`re old, in bad health or just not feeling too good on that day.
My local Asda has a few self service tills installed and I think they're great. The only thing is they're only for baskets, so you can't put a big weekly shop through them.
But it's great that you can scan and pack items in the order you want to pack them i.e. heavy and bulky items first. After a few weeks I've built my speed up, also paying by cash or card is no problem either.
I must say that I'm always asked if I want help with my packing when I go through the conventional tills, but I put this down to my age!!

well im only in my 20s and they always want 2 pack for me in sainsburys which is helpful. I hate my local ASDA because they chew gum and dont pay any attention to the customer. I f you ask the cashier 2 go slower they probably will but their management probly have them trying to scan everything fast,
