Ebay DVD never arrived

I purhcased a dvd from ebay for �6. I transferred the money immediately and she said she'd post it first class.

It never arrived, and the seller did not have proof of postage. she said she'd 'see what she can do'. that was nearly a month ago and have heard nothing - no dvdv, no refund, and to be honest, if someone is dumb enough to send a dvd without proof of postage (which insures you for up to around �30) I'd say its their responsibility to refund me.

Any ideas on where I stand with this or what to do next?

you need to look at ebay regarding their policies on this . it may be worth while contacting her agian, as royal mail probably have a set amount of time before they class a parcel as lost - so may not be able to do anything yet

btw the burden of proof is on her. did you pay by paypal? have you reported them to ebay? What should happen is that she should refund your money, and then claim it back via royal mail

If you paid by Paypal, get in touch with E-Bay. Paypal is a form of protection. It may well be this person is running a scam

Ebay and paypal rules, state that you must send an item by trackable means or you are not covered. Therefore the sender is not covered and must return your money to you if she cannot locate the dvd in the post system. Go to the dispute centre and enter it in as a dispute saying that you have heard nothing from the seller despite having contacted her. They will then approach the seller on your behalf and if you paid by paypal they will automatically deduct it from her paypal account and send it you you. They may also block the seller from ebay for a while.

this has happened to me on ebay. the lady said she had posted it and then said it has happened to a few of her parcels lately and refunded me the money. i also paid 42 pound for a bag on ebid in april still havent heard anything so i count this as lost never use these websites again!
