can anyone recommend good hair straighteners that are not too expensive , ghd etc are a bit out my price range though i know they say you get what you pay for, have long hair and would prefer the thinner shape ones as tried some wide ones before and didnt do much for my hair unfortunatly, so would like to hear whatever you could recommend thanks.

Hi. I had some good ones from argos, Vidal Sassoon, ionic plates. 29.99. Ive paid up to 90 for some before and they were absolutely rubbish. I'd recommend these ones.

thanks will have a look at those.
I have the same ones as swansgal and they are very good. I think GHD are very overrated. They straighten your hair the same as my 30.00 pair. I cannot see why they are so popular. Make sure you always use a protector though first, especially if you do it every day!
I'm with unruliejulie on this one, I have tried my friends GHD's and while they are good, they are so expensive, and I don't use them that often to warrant that amount of money. I have remington ones, and they do exactly what they say on the tin!

thanks all will take a look at these sound really good.
I have veru curly hair and disagree with those who say that GHD's are over rated, I have only ever been able to find two (wide) straighteners that have been able to tame my hair. GHD's and Tourmaline's.

I would recommned you but the thin Tourmaline's - SCP MK3 Tourmaline Straightener - I think they are about 30 and if you buy them anywhere on the net you get all sorts of freebies with them! I had the wide ones and they lasted nearly three years and they really were as good as GHD's!
I have ghd straighteners and i swear by them. I used toni & guy before then and they were absolute rubbish in comparison. My cousin recently got a pair from sally i don't know the make of them but cost less than 20 they look like ghd and are really good just takes a bit longer but you achieve the same result in the end!
