I was planning on getting my mum a ipod mini for her birthday but don't think they do them anymore and have replaced them with the nano.

Does anyone knoe anywhere other than ebay where you can get a new one cheaper than sale price (legally!)

Thank you very much for the offer but i have already bought a BOSE ipod docking station for her (wrong way round to do things i know).

Thanx again though!
i dont think anywhere still sells them in shops. what baout getting an ipod shuffle or something, as i think you will have trouble finding a mini ipod im afraid.
you cant get the ipod minis any more unfortunately. since the nano came out the mini is discontinued. the ipod mini is so much better. my dad works at TNT and thousands come back every week due to easily broken screens and faults. i wouldnt reccomend a ipod nano

really? what about a normal ipod?

I have a mini and i love mine - don't undertand why the discontinued them!!
not sure why exactly they are discontinued. Ihave heard along with andy that the screens break very easily on ipod nano's. i *think* you can still get ipods, however they are (or so ive heard) bringing out a new version of the ipod nano but so it looks like the mini ipod so the screen wont break as easily - so maybe hold off till they come out?
I don't get all this about ipod nano screens breaking... Surely if you manage to look after it properly and don't stamp on it or something, then it will be okay?! I have a nano, and it works perfectly for me :]
they still do the normal ipods (20gb, 30gb and 60gb), and they are good quality, but.... they are alot more pricey! the nanos break so easily because unlike the mini it odes have a metal or hard case protecting it. so if i receives a bash whil in your pocket it will probably break.
I would advise that you DO NOT get an iPod Shuffle. This is becuase they are unreliable ad just USELESS. and you're right they have been taken of the market, this as bacuase people were asking for a thinner iPod, thus the Nano. amaon may sell ipod mini's? Why not get your mum an ordinery MP3 Player they will be more reliable and it will cost a lot less than an iPod!
