I've worked in retail for sixteen years and I'm sick of it. I'm considering working in a call centre, but I've heard it's a tedious job. I'm literally tired of standing around and picking up after people, so I long for a job where I can sit on my backside not doing much, LoL! Is working in a call centre really boring though?

If its cold calling etc, try to imagine all the abuse you will be getting and I dont think you will be earning much either also will not look good on any CV.
Jumping out of the frying pan into the fire seems to come to mind
done call centre before.....NEVER AGAIN!!!
I think it depends on what type of call centre you work for. It can get a bit tedious but then so can most jobs. I work for a breakdown organisation on the phones but do it from home rather than in the call centre and it is alot more relaxed than when I was on site. It makes a lovely change having spend a long time in retail myself. It makes a difference that it is not face to face as well.
PS I am on a very good wage too! And i get bonuses for doing my job properly and no commision because I am not selling anything.

I might give it a go. If I didn't like it I could always go back to retail. Thanks for your replies.
