Help, I'm a first time ebayer... When someone pays through paypal do paypal take a cut? Are there various ways people can pay through paypal, where paypal don't get a cut? Thank you.

paypal always take a cut because theyre doing you a service,they charge you for listing the items and also if you submit a photos too, i dont think theres anyway you can get away with not being charged for their services, although its not a lot, it depends on the item and how much you're selling for i suppose.

paypal take their fee from the seller. Why do you think they should work for nothing?

if you pay by paypal you dont get charged ...but the seller of the item does get small charge.

ebay take the fee for putting the add on not paypal, there are ways of having more pics on and not paying for them, you get 1 free pic with ebay then once you have the listing active you can then revise your listing (you need to have something like photobucket) and you can then add in hmtl's wherever you want on your listing and it doesnt cost anything. people can pay thru paypal with credit/debit cards. but to allow this you have to up your subscription on paypal, then they take more from whatever you recieve, you could alweays try nocheqs.

Yes, Paypal take (approximately) 4% of the purchase price from the seller, it's deducted before the seller gets the payment.

Paypal also charge the seller for moving their money from the Paypal account to a bank account.

If you use a Paypal seller account, there is no way to avoid the charges.

Paypal is THE most expensive way to accept payments. You also run the risk of your money being snatched back.

Consider accepting payment by cheque or PO, or have a look at Nochex.Com (part of Natwest).

I always pay for items via paypal for speed... but don't accept it from buyers... rip off on more expensive items... esp. as ebay have already charged the seller to place the ad...
